TRACY BYRD, ERIC CHURCH, HEARTLAND and JAKE OWEN will also perform at the event, which will include food from local vendors in the community.
JULIANNE HOUGH has been nominated for an Emmy Award for choreographing a dance during her stint on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. The choreographer awards will be handed out September 13 during a ceremony in Los Angeles.
KEITH URBAN and Nicole Kidman are proud new parents who are probably a little nervous, as most new parents are. KATHY MATTEA is continuing to explore coal mining history. She’s planning to visit a restored jail in Charleston, West Virginia, today (Friday) where miners facing treason charges were once held. The event will take place at Old Jefferson County Jail and Kathy will participate in a panel discussion about the jail’s history. Kathy’s latest CD, Coal, is what she calls a coming together of many threads in her life as her parents grew up in a coal mining camp and both her grandfathers were miners.
RANDY TRAVIS wraps up a week of promoting his new CD, Around The Bend, this morning (Friday) with an appearance on NBC’s The Today Show.
LEE ANN WOMACK recently filmed the music video for her latest, Last Call in New York. The tune is the first release from her upcoming CD, Call Me Crazy, due out this fall.
KEITH ANDERSON says it can sometimes be hard to sing his latest, I Still Miss You, during his shows, because the lyrics take on an even stronger meaning in the wake of his mother’s passing. But Keith says he's received great support from his band and crew. In fact, seven of the ten guys who travel with Keith have lost their moms, also, and have been able to offer support and empathy.
JOSH TURNER, STEVE WARINER and MEL TILLIS will be among those performing at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend.
DARRYL WORLEY, LORRIE MORGAN and WILLIE NELSON are at work on new albums for the newly formed label Stroudavarious Records. No timetable has yet been set for their releases.
