“The Biggest Little Farm” Documentary Showing at the Library

Join us Sunday, August 25 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) and witness the decade-long story of John and Molly Chester as they trade city life for transforming 200 acres of barren land into a biodynamic farm that works in harmony with nature.

In 2011, the husband and wife team left their jobs in Los Angeles to become farmers and pursue their dream vision of starting Apricot Lane Farms. Located 40 miles north of Los Angeles, the farm is dedicated to the mission of creating a well-balanced eco-system and rich soils that produce nutrient-dense foods while treating the environment and the animals with respect. “The Biggest Little Farm” provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

Job Skills Series | Finding Your Why with Sarah Baker

Have you ever stopped to think about why you make the decisions you do? What has led you to choose one job over the other? Dive deeper into these thoughts with Reginal Health Organizational Development Specialist, Sarah Baker Thursday, August 29 from 12 – 1 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs). Baker will speak to how you can develop your own personal purpose and align your career with the roles you have chosen.

This session is the start of the 11-week Job Skills Series at the library. We’ve partnered with community business leaders and employment professionals who will teach on a variety of topics to improve skills and provide career direction. Even after the Job Skills trainings conclude, the collaboration continues with several area small businesses providing mentorships showing job seekers their individual businesses and going over what they look for in team members. For the complete Job Skills Series schedule visit .
