Janssen and Salituro Return From Iowa



(DES MOINES, IA) – The Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, announced today that rookie forwards Evan Janssen and Dante Salituro are returning to the Rush via assignments prior to the weekend series against the archrival Colorado Eagles.


Janssen comes back to the Rush from Iowa after appearing in 3 games with the Wild, making his professional debut on October 14th in a 7-4 loss to the Rockford IceHogs.  The 6’0”, 185-pound forward registered the first two points of his professional career, registering a goal and an assist, along with a +2 rating on October 20th in a 3-2 win over the Manitoba Moose.  Prior to playing professionally, the Green Bay, Wisconsin native played four years with the University of Denver in the NCAA, scoring 47 points in 146 games, and captured the 2017 NCAA National Championship with the Pioneers.  He also skated in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints for one season, winning the 2013 USHL Clark Cup Championship with current Rush teammate, goaltender Christian Frey.


Salituro comes back to the Rush from Iowa after appearing in a pair of games with the Wild.  The 5’9”, 175-pound forward went +1 in his debut with the Wild, earning his plus during the 7-4 loss to the IceHogs.  Last season, Salituro made his professional debut with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters (5 GP, 1 goal), and the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones (2 GP), and Norfolk Admirals (5 GP, 1g-1ast-2pts).  Before jumping to the pro ranks, the Willowdale, Ontario native played five seasons in the OHL with the London Knights and Ottawa 67’s, registering 282 points (122g-160ast) in 295 games.  He spent four of his five seasons in Ottawa, averaging just under a point-per-game in his 67’s career (260pts, 265 GP).
