Rush Acquire All-Star Bradford in Trade

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, announced today that the team acquired 2017 ECHL All-Star, Erik Bradford, in exchange for defenseman Michael Young with the Norfolk Admirals.

Bradford comes to the Rush after starting the season with the Norfolk Admirals.  The 6’0”, 190-pound forward has appeared in 7 games, and has a goal and 5 assists for 6 points to his credit.

A native of Orangeville, Ontario, Bradford, 23, enters his third season of professional hockey, and is coming off of the best season of his career.  Last year, he started with the Toledo Walleye for the first 5 games of the season, earning a goal and an assist before heading to the Mountain Division rival Utah Grizzlies.  In a Grizzlies uniform, Bradford racked up 61 points (16g-45as) in 57 games, and added an additional 2 assists in 5 playoff games.  For his efforts, he was named to the 2017 ECHL All-Star Team that played against the host Adirondack Thunder.

Prior to playing professionally, Bradford played major-junior hockey in the OHL with the Barrie Colts, the Owen Sound Attack, and the Ottawa 67’s, the latter with current Rush teammate Dante Salituro.  In his OHL career, he appeared in 264 games and registered 76 goals, 110 assists, and 186 points.  He’s the cousin of the trio of McGinn brothers: Brock, Jamie, and Tye, all of which have played in the National Hockey League.

The Rush and the Beast will rematch on Friday, November 3rd in the second of a three-game set.  Puck drop is slated for 7:05 p.m. MST at Premier Home Mortgage Ice in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
