Billie Joe Armstrong, Tom Morello Take Part In Jesse Malin Benefit Album

New York singer/songwriter Jesse Malin was paralyzed from the waist down following a spinal stroke last year. To help raise money to cover his mounting medical bills and ongoing healthcare, some music legends have recorded Malin’s songs for a forthcoming benefit album called, Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin. Bruce Springsteen, Billie Joe Armstrong, Elvis Costello, Tom Morello, Rancid, the Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., Counting Crows, and Susanna Hoffs are just some of the big names that have taken part in the benefit record. Bleachers‘ version of Malin’s “Prisoners of Paradise,” from his 2007 album, Glitter in the Gutter, is the first single released from the tribute album, which is due out on September 20. Pre-orders for the 3LP vinyl set are available on Jesse Malin’s merch website. (Louder Sound)
