Nick Mason Is Intrigued By Using AI To Make New Pink Floyd Music

In a new interview with The Daily Mirror, legendary Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason wonders if artificial intelligence could bring Pink Floyd back together again, even as grudges and fighting within the band keeps the group from ever possibly reuniting. “It would be fascinating to see what AI could do with new music. If you tried to run it as a sort of ‘Where did Pink Floyd go after?’” the 80-year-old Mason said. “The thing to do would be to have an AI situation where David and Roger become friends again. We could be like ABBA by the time we’ve finished with it.” Mason thinks that the ongoing volatile feud between David Gilmour and Roger Waters tarnishes some of the band’s legacy. “In a 55-year career, most of it was great fun,” says Mason. “We were enormously privileged to be in a successful band and tour the world and hang out with really interesting people.” (Consequence of Sound)
