Josh Freese Honors Taylor Hawkins On His First Anniversary Of Joining Foo Fighters

Drummer Josh Freese took a moment to pay tribute to Taylor Hawkins, on Freese’s one year anniversary of officially joining Foo Fighters. On May 21, 2023, the Foos announced that Freese would be Hawkins replacement, following Taylor’s tragic death in 2022. Even though the announcement video was inspired by tragedy and loss, the Foos quickly got back to doing what they do best – rocking out. In an Instagram post filled with live performance clips from the original announcement, Freese shared just how much he and the rest of the band still miss Hawkins, and how they pay tribute to him every time they play music together.

“I continue to miss Taylor as does the band, his family, friends and the rest of the world,” Freese wrote. “We also continue to try and make the most of the situation by moving forward and doing what we love doing… playing music, honoring Taylor and staying positive.” (Loudwire)
