Ex-Stones Bassist Bill Wyman Releasing First New Album In 9 Years

Bill Wyman, the former bassist in the Rolling Stones, has shared details about his new solo album. The record is titled, Drive My Car, and it is Wyman’s first new album in nine years, and his ninth solo album overall. The album is out on August 9, and features 10 songs, with two bonus tracks included on the CD and digital versions. The record includes choice covers of Wyman’s musical contemporaries, Bob Dylan‘s “Thunder on the Mountain,” Taj Mahal‘s “Light Rain,” and John Prine‘s “Ain’t Hurtin’ Nobody.” Drive My Car also includes five original songs written or cowritten by Wyman.”It’s not something I do every day, but sometimes I just see a guitar in the corner of the room, pick it up to play around and then something clicks into place,” Wyman said in a press release for the album. The album’s title track is available to stream now. (Ultimate Classic Rock)
