The Beatles ‘Love’ Closes After 18-Year Run In Las Vegas

On Sunday, the final curtain came down on the Beatles Love Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas, following an 18-year run. The idea for the show was conceived by George Harrison back in 2000, with input from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, and Yoko Ono. It premiered at the Mirage in 2006, and was seen by over 12 million people during its run. “Today The Beatles LOVE takes its final bow,” The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil shared in a joint Instagram post. “The magical friendship we have had with @cirquedusoleil over the last 18 years has given millions of people from around the world a chance to experience The Beatles’ music in a way we would never have conceived without their artistry and creative vision. We wanted to give our love, thanks and appreciation to the show’s brilliant cast and crew. And to all the fans from all over the world who came to see it. Thank you.” (Ultimate Classic Rock)
