Cause Of Death Revealed For Former Iron Maiden Singer Paul Di’Anno

In a Facebook post shared on Monday (November 11), the family of former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno disclosed his cause of death. Di’Anno – who was the vocalist on Maiden’s celebrated first two studio albums, 1980’s Iron Maiden and 1981’s Killers – passed away back on October 21 at the age of 66. Paul’s sisters Cheryl and Michelle shared the results of the autopsy in the post, revealing that Di’Anno “had a tear in the sac around the heart and blood filled inside it from the main aorta artery, and that caused the heart to stop.” They revealed that “Paul’s death was instantaneous and hopefully painless. May he rest in peace.” A tribute show to honor Di’Anno took place on Thursday (November 7th) at London’s Underworld Camden, featuring  performances by Electric Gypsy, Gypsy’s Kiss, and Hi-On Maiden, and guest appearances by contemporaries Terry Wapram (ex-Iron Maiden) and Tino Troy (Praying Mantis).
