Courtney Love’s New Album Will Feature Michael Stipe And Echo & The Bunnymen’s Will Sergeant, But Not “Rude” PJ Harvey

In a new interview with The Standard, Courtney Love shared some details about her new album and revealed a few of the record’s guest stars. R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe will be featured on the forthcoming project, according to the Hole founder. “Stipe mentioned our collaboration to The New York Times, so I can say it’s gorgeous,” Love shared. “I fell down weeping hearing his voice – it’s better than ever!” Echo & the Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant is also featured on the album. “Will Sergeant, my favorite guitarist on earth, from my favorite band, agreed to work with me!” Love said, adding that his contributions are “elevating songs beyond description.” One musician who won’t be on Love’s record is PJ Harvey. “I did ask PJ Harvey to come back,” Love said. “I’ve endorsed her over the decades, but she chose not to respond to me. So I wrote her about how f***ing rude that was. Her manager tried to smooth things over, but it’s not okay.” (Consequence of Sound)
