Former YES keyboardist Rick Wakeman has announced a run of new live dates this fall that will be part of his ongoing final U.S. solo tour. The 75-year-old prog rock pioneer kicks off his tour on October 3rd in Tarrytown, New York, and brings the jaunt to a close on November 2nd in Landsdowne, Pennsylvania. Wakeman’s final solo tour features the keyboardist performing a set filled with, “YES music and other favorites.” Wakeman’s show will also include a new piece that he has titled, “Yessonata,” which is a 30-minute instrumental featuring “YES themes and melodies, woven into sonata form.”
“I have thoroughly enjoyed performing the various one-man shows, but it’s time to call it a day,” said Wakeman in his original farewell tour statement. “I intend to throw in the best of what I have done in the past, plus a few new surprises on the way, and possibly even the odd guest joining me on the odd occasion.” (Consequence of Sound)
